Light & Darkness

Light & Darkness

A Poem by Shy

It’s better to follow the darkness,
Because it leads to nowhere.
It’s hard to follow the light,
Because it shows our future.

Pleasing to mind when pleasing the flesh,
Pain comes later, when seeing the mistake.
Pleasing to heart when pleasing the spirit,
Joy comes later, so does hope and health.

Easier to be blind and proud,
For we do not need to walk the path.
Easier to be deaf and hateful,
For we do not need to hear the perfect truth.

It’s best to walk after light,
For it brings resurrection and life.
It’s best to hear the truth,
For it hurts, but it heals the heart.

this is a wonderful poem about the confliction within the choices of being benevolent and malevolent , i like this one it speaks the conflicted feelings we feel everyday , i think good and evil are more subjective matter's than we think
