The DocksA Poem by Liz/////////////////////////////// Down by the docks she waits. Wind in her hair gnarling at her with its claws. But she does not shiver For she has love in her heart. Down by the docks she waits. The wind has tattered her clothes. And blown sand into the lines of her skin making them visible. The sun has baked them too. But she does not ail or tire of standing for she has love in her heart. Down by the docks she waits Time has grayed her hair Her soft skin no longer glows. She stands naked for the wind and rain have washed away her clothes. But she does not blush at the sight of passerbys for she has love in her heart. Down by the docks she waits. Much stiller than the sea foam washed upon the sand. Still paler than the sea foam too. But she does not weep or sigh as the current, greedy, takes her last breath away for she has love in her heart as the current sweeps her away. Down by the docks she waits. Until her lover returns and they sail away under sunset hues brighter than any mortal man has seen:crimson, sapphire, orange. But she does not see them as they fade for all she can do is gaze into her lover's eyes for she has love in her heart. ///////////////////////////////////////////
