I WalkA Poem by CircusNerd
I walk a lonely road
I ride the boat of solitude My wingman fly a distance behind So far back, so little fortitude. My sanctity I uphold, weak Soothed by ushers of forlorn bliss And promises, bygone and meek Sear with words, a remembered kiss. A quatrain to alleviate ache To bring feeling back to the soul Of the back, which breaks and breaks, Telling the tale it's always told. "Memories of days gone by" I scoff at the implication For a hellish oblivion knows no time I satire the positive connotation. The banks which extend their hands out towards me They hold no joy; promise no faith Let's just pretend I never spoke Let's just pretend it's not too late. The path I walk, I'll walk alone. You may hear me pass by in the night . Jibe, Pray, Give, Feel, Touch, Kiss, Scorn, Reel You prey upon my will to fight. But never once will I falter. Never once will I lose sight. I may walk on alone, silently. But I walk on towards the light. © 2011 CircusNerdReviews
