Lost

Lost

A Poem by CircusNerd

Twisting and turning

Search for the light

The moon past the canopy

Rains only black night

Running, raving

For the source of bliss

Find me asylum

Of the sweetest kiss

Aware yet unaware

Of predator and prey

Not knowing my place

A stray among strays

Barking, bowing

To a leader so strange

Whose commands can't be heard

Yet with a whip he reigns

Silently and stealthy

Making my way

Across a global epidemic

From tomorrow til today

Marked with wrought iron

Stapled with a cost

Branded with no identity

Now all hope is lost
