When the Last Leaf Fell

When the Last Leaf Fell

A Poem by CircusNerd

~

When the last leaf fell

With it went my heart

With it went my dreams

And all their shattered parts

When the last leaf fell

With it went the sun

With it went the moon

And all they days undone

When the last leaf fell

With it went the cheer

With it went the happiness

That was only found here

When the last leaf feel

With it went my sight

With it went my tears

With it went my light

When the last leaf fell

With it went my wit

With it when my whimsy

And all the rest of it

And there's nothing left afterwards

Except the one thing that came

After the last leaf fell
I began to love your name

A straight read, but very nice. I got a warm feeling reading this. There's just
something about not being afraid to fall out of control. Nice job.

Takin' a page outta my book, eh? XD
I really like this, but I think, if you had kept away from rhyme, a lot more could have been done with the poem.
I think there's a typo here: And all they days undone.
Do you mean 'the days undone'?
And my favorite line?
"After the last leaf fell
I began to love your name."
