Repent

Repent

A Poem by CircusNerd

The black mass of iniquity known as my heart

Was cruelly ripped to shreds by your death

And now I have no clue from where to start

Or who I can trust to waste my breath

Because all wrongdoings end in pain

And mine have come back to enlighten me

And all efforts at resolutions end in vain

How could I have been so blind not to see

For I should have known what war does to men

And foresaw your fate, inevitable doom already cast

Since an enemy's blood is a sweet addiction

When the shackles of destiny hold you fast

"Because all wrongdoings end in pain

And mine have come back to enlighten me "

The rest of the poem was good but these two lines really stood out to me for some reason.

"Since an enemy's blood is a sweet addiction"

This line is very true, well put.
