Rain

Rain

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

its new

"

Standing in the rain

Rinsing this sin from the depths of my soul

As your glory

Explores my individuality

I am humble and silent

As your spirit cleanses me

I cry out

For you and your mercy

Reach into the mire

And restore this selfish man

Once again express your love

Without concern or fear

I fall down

with arms opened wide

Clinched fist

Pound the soggy ground

While tears flow

Forgive me Lord I pray…Aman
