Forgiveness

Forgiveness

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

A intimate moment with your creation.

"

Kneeling

in the sand

with a broken seashell I write in sadness

as the marching winds vigorously blow

In my hand

I hold the sands of time

tightly with all my might

praying that this vision never sifts through my hands

Softly I write a very simple phrase

I love you

I place the shell beneath my sentiments

as my eyes begin to fill with love

No gulls cry today

no playing children run my way

just me and vision play in the sand

I place my legs out to sit on the moist shore

At this moment

life doesn't matter

Images flood my soul, bringing me peace

for a moment in time I dance with renewed hopes

I hear the waves

roaring towards me

I see my dreams run yet I sit

I soon feel the tides of love wash me with forgiveness

I honor you, Lord, and I send these words to you this hour.

As I hold you this moment in the images that I paint in my mind

I find tranquility and strength

I see the beauty that brought you into my arms so many years ago.

I reflect to days and times long past.
