Righteous Anger

Righteous Anger

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

Sometimes our anger is for the right reason.

"

Anger runs through these tormented veins

As death stings like the angry scorpion

Venom calls me from the righteous anger that flows

I hear her hissing from a distance

The chords of discontentment strum in my mind

Put down the wrath that builds within me

God I call for the angels of justice to fall upon us

Judge my heart Oh Lord

Sear that which doesn’t reflect your glory

For let the two edged sword sever my flesh.

I beg of you father

This day

Amen…..
