Bipolar Reflections

Bipolar Reflections

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

A serious bipolar moment.

"

Mind numbing games

Hide all the shame

Beating drums

Deaden all nerves creating numbness

Damn pills and horrible taste

Hurry euphoria make haste

Take this wounded heart

Give me wings so that I may depart.

I beat my brain

All the while crying for the insane

Watch those daggers as the fly

Hear the sadistic and mournful cry

Watch as the eyes of the masses

Sways over me a life surpasses

Demons haunt the wildest dreams

While night sweats produce screams

A fool was lead down the lustful trail

While he journeyed quickly toward hell

For a man stayed his fateful course

A path littered with lamentations and remorse.
