Insecurity

Insecurity

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

Each of us struggles with doubts and fears.

"

Underneath a once moonlit sky

I become entranced by angelic visions

My soul is confused with doubts of the flesh

For I am overwhelmed in times of wretchedness

In the distance, I hear a soft encouraging voice

As words of assurance echo within this soul

For is not life the expression of love

Could life ever grant me happiness?

Can I ever obtain respect from indulging in these pleasures?

These questions I know.

Life promises no direction, only confusion for those whom listen

Lord,

help me lean on thee

In times of distress

teach me thy way.
