Rose Garden

Rose Garden

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

A vision I had of my daughter four years before she was born.

"

Amongst the roses

I watch you elegantly dance.

Such beauty and charm

never before have I seen.

Lovely is the child,

which before me prances.

Pick a rose

for you to wear.

A moment of time

that we shall treasure forever.

A love

with you is what I share.

Flowing locks

swaying in the breeze.

Cute curls,

bouncing carefree in the wind.

A lovely sight,

for all to see.

Big brown eyes

gazing upon the singing birds.

Cheery clouds

fill the Sunny sky.

A memory

never told in mere words.

Cutest dimples,

blush.

For your excitement

has brought forth shyness.

Fatherly pride

what a rush.

Pink lace,

hangs from her Easter dress

Joyful and content

is my baby girl.

What a blessing,

of which I must confess.

A daughter,

of whom I must let go.

For every moment

comes to an end.

I only pray,

that my love for you will continue to grow.
