Recollections

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

Another moment of finding meaning.

"

Is it possible for anyone to comprehend this enormous void

love has placed within my broken heart?

Haunting images of the family long lost,

destroyed by the talons of a selfish eagle.

Nightly, I mourn, for I have received this revelation

I am a castaway forsaken on foreign shores.

Death would be easy for me

however I chose fulfillment of my dreams.

My love is ongoing, but I have my moments

times I allow myself to drown in weeds of pity.

Yet this night peace has found me in the dark hours

Thank-you Lord.
