Fatherly LoveA Poem by Elvis GilleyA view through the eyes of God.Isolated, underneath the palms, electrifying dances, in the night air, thunder pounds, tympanic rhythms in my ears, long lanky fingers brush back flowing locks of raven hair.
Beneath the heavens, refreshing rains fall upon earth, reverently I stand, recalling memories of passion which still haunt me, One compassions sparkle illuminated from my soul, deceit has since turned this heart to granite.
Unfaithful emotions, bruised this soul, Here I am, in this park weeping tears of betrayal, while my nature, is questioned, I am dejected and sorrow freely flows.
Mournful trails, cross my unshaved face, my vision, grows dim. I feel a breeze swirling here it goes passing over me, touching my tormented soul.
Afar, is a glimpse of an ageless man.. His gray eyes intently focused, upon his faithless son whom before him stands. Wrath, has begun to consume me, I watches as he calls for me.
In a quick turn, I glance upon his face, I see a single drop of blood, descending from his eyes. In this moment, I fall to my knees. © 2012 Elvis Gilley |
