Prayerfully I PonderA Poem by Elvis GilleyA written testament to GodGod have you ever pondered a dream so real? Ever dreamt of love to discover it is merely surreal? Ever cried till your tears froze into icy walls? Ever wondered why you were so foolish to fall? Can you believe I am the most arrogant of all me? I am a foolish b*****d whom now bathes in a pool of sin.
Last night as water from these eyes fell, my lonely beast became damned to hell. I could be seeking refuge in so many things, yet tonight it is pity's song I sing. A piercing blow to this heart could end this pain, or I could continue down the road of the insane.
I would tread along this rocky ledge, tempting fate wanting to jump beyond the edge I wonder if my broken bones would scream, or would I awake from this horrific scheme? When my flesh plummets to the ground would these broken bones make a sound?
As the dreams and visions draw nigh, would you all please not cry? For to live without my bundle of joy, is to be life's puppet toy. So to spare us all the agony, watch me fall, then you will see.
A man broken who lost his most treasured gift; who was left behind broken limbs for you to sift. If you find this loving heart, Notice, it is torn apart One half I leave for those I love, the other half is with my angel above.
