Letter to AngelA Poem by Elvis GilleyA poem to any father who has limited time with his child. My heart goes out to thee this Summer night, for why I am most unsure; but I have found myself in such a fright.
I came here this very moment , to talk with you, precious one, so that we could carry loves message over the distance.
For you see little angel, plays along amongst the daisies; while angelic voices sing unto the Lord joyful praises.
Her blonde curly hair dances, upon the wind; while within my broken heart dreams begin to mend.
So lovely is my angel, as she plays merrily, as in my prayers she stays.
Watch as she turns her chubby cheeks my direction, Oh, what a treasure; Upon which I have spent hours of sweet reflection.
I stand here, overtaken by fatherly pride while deep within me my love rolls like the oceans tides.
Precious angel, daddy loves you, his arms long to hold you.
His tender tears, call forth his imagination, while beside this rock daddy rests for a revelation.
I pray that as God watches you grow he will also hold you and let my love show.
If you will, Angel, send her my heart, Speak to her and tell her who owns the other part; while I kneel in reverence.
When she grows older and asks about me hold out your hand and let her see, my heart is filled with love.
When she asks where is my dad? Point to heaven and let her not be sad.
Teach her love, for all mankind; keep her safe from darkness that sets forth to bind.
If during her days by the river you were to hear her weep, just show her my love in the chronicles which God keeps.
Thank-you, precious angel, for my time here, however I need to go for here comes my healing tears.
