Intimately

Intimately

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

Learning to love intimatly

"

Tip toe

down the halls

of my pulsating heart.

Be quiet

sure footed

careful not to break it.

For glass

shatters

in tumultuous times.

Fragile memories

gather

within my soul.

Love me

patiently

Oh Lord.

Hold me

through the lonely nights

for I long to know you intimately.

This feels like such a private piece, I know you're talking about God at the end, but I thought it was about someone you loved till you mentioned "oh lord" and I personally was disappointed, but that's just because I took intimacy to mean sex. Reading it twice allowed me to appreciate it more.
