Waterfront Thoughts

Waterfront Thoughts

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

Memories of a day at the beach.

"

The winds of change howl in my life,

as waves crash against the shrimpers vessel.

Tides of the Spirit cleanse my soul.

Aches of the past are washed away.

A toddler writes in the soft white sand.

The dreams of yesterday are my reality.

Peace and serenity consume me.

Gulls silently pace the oceans shores.

In these precious moments I know God.

The power and authority in which he reigns.

Still through it all he always cares.

A family journeys by.

No doubt reflecting as the waters bathe the sand.

A sultry breeze and foam capped waves wash us in love.

A day of reflection Lord for though I struggle; I know your hand is upon me.
