"You've got a friend in me"

"You've got a friend in me"

A Poem by Elvis A. Sanchez

I’d count the days ‘til you came home

Three years gone; it’s far too long

I couldn't wait to hold you in my arms

But now you’re here, so don’t disappear

You are now half grown up

It’s time to finish where we left off

All of these dreams will come to end

But like a Robinson once said

You gotta, “Keep moving forward”

But until then...

You’re Buzz Lightyear and I’m Woody

Saving the Old West and Galaxy

You will always be my favorite deputy

Just keep swimming to Sydney

You will find you’re the Lion king

And we’ll just look for the Bare Necessities

What about Mater and McQueen?

And winning the World Grand Prix?

Wall-e and Eve, Lilo and Stitch

Reaching the sky with Peter Pan

All of these dreams will come to end

But adventure is out there, so just pretend

We won’t ever grow up, so until then

Just keep swimming to Sydney

Because I need my bearcub, Wreck-it Ralph

‘Cause little one you are part of my Ohana

Remember, you’re Buzz Lightyear and I’m Woody

We’ll save the Old West and Galaxy

You will always be my favorite deputy

“You’re gonna see it’s our destiny

‘Cause you’ve got a friend in me”

I like this. It makes me think of "Toy Story", and I loved all three of those movies.
