Mercy in darkness

Mercy in darkness

A Poem by elvenom
"

Not always the darkness is what's evil. Not always the wolves and snakes from fairy tales are the bad ones.

"
Years ago in twilight crack
I met a stranger passing lone,
dressed in robe, reaper-black
and told me tales of the unknown:

Raw truth does open gates,
deepest wounds it would’ve cured,
blind corruption it negates,
but sadly, it’s hard to be secured.

True mercy and honesty pure,
cloaked in shifting swamp on basis
are mystic as the moon’s allure
and rare like dust mirage " oasis.

But somewhere in the world’s light
souls do treasure honor sense.
They stay away from human sight
they grow up in danger tense.

Cling, cling, roughly, strong,
the paws of wolves like tempered steel
honor they will never loose
just for duty to fulfill.

Hiss, hiss, the split tongue’s flight
and digging teeth that leave you steeped
by the snake with vigorous bite
with poison, that is truly sweet.

Unsoiled darkborn duty fountain
fiery, like the sun it glows,
stands heavier than every mountain,
like a shining pearl it flows.

Death is lighter than a feather,
the dark honor will never wither,
not by man, nor god or shredder,
for all eternity, let it glitter.

This was quite experimental for me and I don't know how it worked out. Wanted to show up some new point of view about some mass beliefs towards darkness, wolves and snakes, also ravens but they don't currently reside here.

I believe we aren't afraid of the dark, as most people think, but of fear itself of the dark. Similarly, we don't fear wolves or snakes or , even raven, for that matter, we fear the fear we come to associate with them.
lovely poem, a truly imaginative read. Rhyming poems always delight me. I hope I got the meaning correct. :))

but for most of us we are afraid of the darkness but no, we are not afraid of the dark, we are afraid of what's in it. The new concept you gave and the choices of words you made are really extraordinary and really awesome.
