Ode To Southern RepublicansA Poem by El S. PalmerOh, its election time again.Ode to Southern Republicans
One hot day in Georgia I was sitting in my car During that time when Bush/Cheney were the rising stars I had rolled down my window to let in some of that Georgia wind And a woman standing next to her GMC gave me the look of sin. She gave me that "southern curl" for playing my music way too loud And that's when I noticed "W" on her back window, stickin' proud.
In the south, where the Republicans reign supreme And where all supported that lame duck who is still on the scene Who can we think for the nine year old on the terror watch list? As well as the reporter who's job it is to question why its gone amiss Where "no gay rights" and "no pro-choice" means you are a God-send God fearing men say no 39 bill for children but yes to 500 for his friends?
They say time has a way of putting you exactly where you need to be And I'm sure that woman is giving the southern curl to the $90 it takes to fill up her SUV So to all those southern Republicans who believe that goodness only resides in the red Just remember the eight years of fun we've had before you jump on anything that I said. © 2008 El S.
