Coffins For TwoA Poem by elroyburnsA sort of love poem...Coffins for two T’was the proprietor, Who had the idea At this very morose, And bleak time of year To give them some hope, And comfort their end, For at least when they die, They’ll be with their best friend,
A lovers’ cemetery, Coffins for two; To rest for eternity, Your lover and you;
The police were swamped, The mortician in trouble, Who would have thought, The suicide rate could double;
He’d underestimated, Their need for love; Till he found a couple naked, With their toaster in the tub. © 2011 elroyburns |
