Kiss Me

Kiss Me

A Poem by Claire Marie
"

Based on an old love

"
KISS ME.
DRAW OUT THE POISON ON MY TONGUE
SO I CAN ONLY SAY SWEET PHRASES
AND SING MELLIFLUOUS MELODIES.
WET MY TONGUE WITH YOURS
TO GIFT ME YOUR WORDS AND PROFESSIONS
TRAIN MY LIPS TO ONLY BE ABLE
TO MOUTH YOUR NAME AND AN "I LOVE YOU"
GOD KNOWS THAT'S ALL THAT'S
ON MY MIND WITH MY LIPS AGAINST YOURS.

I like this piece. It's borderline experimental-prose works well here. What was your inspiration?

My first real boyfriend, actually. Very adolescent-love-affair-esque, I must admit.
