OvergrownA Poem by Claire MarieI was up late one night when this metaphor came to mind, and I haven't decided if its good or not yet. It's actually more coherent than my other insomniac poetry. I hope you enjoy.
You planted your lips
On the cracks in my surface, And they grew Into a beautiful, overgrown garden. But then, you abandoned The beautiful landscape And it became a neglected, Untamed eyesore. The planted kiss that once guarded The cracks in my surface Now seeped like vines in the faults, Prying apart and eating away at me. I sit in agony Feeling the kiss thriving and growing Inside of me, unforgiving, And I pray you will come back to tame it. Please, come back, And either uproot this kiss, Or trim it back to The beauty it once was. Please, I'm crumbling. © 2014 Claire MarieAuthor's Note
