The Demon Inside of Me

It controls me. It my deepest strength, yet my greatest weakness. It is my power. It is my failure. It is me.

There is a monster deep within
the steel bars of my mind.
Locked tightly away forever,
Something nobody shall find.


It has the control of my heart,
the prowess of insanity.
It is every flaw and fault I am,
Even scars from haunting memories.


For this, I am never truly held together,
Nor completely torn apart.
Like hanging from a cliff’s edge,
But holding on with all your heart.


And I will fight forever,
Like the ever-changing sea.
But not one thing in this world,
Can kill the demon inside of me.
