A response to the poem that is our life story

A response to the poem that is our life story

A Poem by Ellie Koput
"

Recently, I posted a poem on tumblr (lifelessandsober.tumblr.com GO CHECK ME OUT!) One of the first likers was a guy who posts poetry prompts. I thought that it would be really cool to try this.

"
Here's the prompt: write a poem from the perspective of someone reading another poem. this poem can be morbid, happy, sad, etc. must include at least one pair of rhyming lines.
You are a poem,my dear
With your rhymes
your line breaks
your lullabies
I fear
You and I won't adhere.
so
I read the story of your life
with my hands
my teeth
my eyes
Too much strife
Put down the f*****g knife
 before
You slice your composition
at your wrists
your hips
your thighs
An illusion of confusion
Due to the persecution
it's as though
My own poem isn't s**t
my rhymes
my line breaks
my lullabies

Did you even read it?
