a friend

a friend

A Poem by ellieELECTRIC;
"

a poem i wrote a few years ago about my best friend at the time. he was amazing. too bad high school happened.

"

light streaming onto her face;

eyes glistening with tears.

how could someone so

beautiful

be so

sad?

hair like a nighttime wave,

washing over her bare shoulders,

spilling like oil over her back.

knees to chest,

hands to eyes.

body wracked by shudders

she cannot control.

head and heart

pounding

the same beat;

lub-dub,lub-dub,lub-dub.

feeling weak.

he calls to her

a friend;

a helpful hand;

a lover?

his arms

wrapped

around her.

the warmth of him

forces a smile

onto her face.

"thank you"

she whispers into his shoulder.

"no;

thank you"

he mutters into her hair.

This was a cute poem. Poems about friends always seem to touch me deep in the heart. Friends seem to be what make a person whole, and forge them into who they are, currently. We all have something to thank people for, and most of the time, they thank us back. We always think we have something that outrules the other, but in the end, we're always tied with each other. No love is greater than the other. Wonderful poem :)
