If I Remained FrozenA Poem by ellie mayIf time were frozen for only but a moment Would you embrace the view, or farewell the olden? If the light of day became the dark of night Would you cherish the peace, or take off in your own minds flight?
If I told you that life, were only your imagination That we are the creators of our own dictation Would you believe me and let your life run wild? Would you dare to dream like the innocent child?
If you witnessed a mother lose her only child Would you give thanks for your own, or be crude and vile? If another craved forgiveness, would you give them your hand? If another needed assistance, would you meet their demands?
If a fallen tree should rise, would you stare in horror and suprise? Would you smile and say, "tis the way of life"? Many will fall, some expect them there to stay But know we can all learn to crawl and walk again some day
Life is a mystery, a constance of unknown This be the beauty, of every underlying tone Do you question purpose and reason? Or appreciate the changes with each of lifes' new seasons?
The waves swell only to crash, with slight anew In hardship do you quickly dash, or stay in dangers way to help a few? Living can be a hoop, a cycle of actions Be a part of the troop, rejoice in the selfless satisfactions
A man is happy when he cares for a wife Without her he is a blade without a handle, a broken and useless 'once was' knife The altruism person will live a fulfilled life The selfish being know only the company of his own strife
Live for each moment, for each is a treasure If you stayed frozen, would you dare to measure Your life in memories, or simply your person? If I remained frozen I'd be satisfied with the life I had chosen.
