The Flight of the LeavesA Poem by MiaIntheSkywithDiamondsReally corny little poem about leaves in the fall.In cascading waves of crimson and gold They take their descent, Once so fresh, so full, so plump, so green, Now grown majestic, fragile, small. Their whispers carry from one to the next, Tales falling subserviently against the grass. They lie motionless and packed, Quivering in the wind as they did when Their grandeur was held in heights, Their lips and tails interlink, Chaining one to the next. The lazy slug crosses their path, Slithering along, impervious, oblivious. He mocks them, his fat, long body trailing along The path chosen for him without his consent. They cry soundlessly, their faces gazing fruitlessly back Into the sunset sky. © 2011 MiaIntheSkywithDiamondsReviews
