She Hung Herself

She Hung Herself

A Poem by chesapeake

She hung herself,
On every word her mother told her.
How she was beautiful and different,
But she was only different
Not beautiful

She hung herself,
On the emotions of her father.
She knew she was never good enough
And he always reminded her

The words and the lies kept
Pushing and pulling until it left her in shards
Held together by an empty
Shell

So she did what she knew best
And hung herself
