Never The End

Never The End

A Poem by E.L. Debbage

It's Never The End -

You sighed unfathomable words, refusing

to accept  our approaching finality, yet

essentially it is the easiest option out

of this mess we so willingly ignited.

Still what surrounds me is him, lost

yet found within another, ticking bombs,

foundations for clarity " the corners curved,

barely; before collapsing to the ground

where ashes of emotion choke us, we swallow.

Fear of pain, don’t touch my hand. I felt weak,

sparks of energy; that shall never die. Still

every inch of our being, try to shut them down.

Enclose it, don’t feel it, deny it: you might survive.

Roll the dice, dance, light a match; blow it out.

What choice do we have but movement?

For the world still turns, yes, I feel content at that.

I like this. It's like a diary entry.

I liked the poem. Like hearing desperate whispers in the night.
"Enclose it, don’t feel it, deny it: you might survive.
Roll the dice, dance, light a match; blow it out."
The above lines were my favorite. Roll the dice and maybe find a better end? Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
