Wont be Alone

Wont be Alone

A Poem by Ellen Henry

I want a drink.

I want a strong one.

To take my mind off of all the pain.

I want to go so far away,

just to keep from going insane.

The road ahead is lonely.

It's cold.

Lifeless, without my man.

But at least I wont be completely alone,

with a cold drink in my hand.

There's nothing wrong with escaping from reality for a while. I do it with a nice cold 40 oz. Of beer;)

I am a whisky girl personally. Thanks for commenting! :)
Sometimes the escape from reality is something we need. I don't use drinking as my ticket away, usually reading or music, but I do enjoy a drink! Well written piece.
