To Say Goodbye

To Say Goodbye

A Poem by Ellen Incognito

We only meet to say goodbye

To say goodbye, to say goodbye…

And should we meet before I die

I’d have no time to say goodbye.

We only meet to say goodbye

To watch the time just wither and die

If we had meet before I died

I wouldn’t want to say goodbye.

We only meet to say goodbye

So walk away before you cry

For if we should meet before I die

We’d only meet to say goodbye.

The fondest words ring in your ears

So let me silence all your cares

Though I am gone, you still live on

And we only met to say goodbye

We only met to say goodbye.

Thanks :D
Nice job :) The repetition really helps cement the message in. I'd consider changing the "To watch the times love wither and die" line (it's a wee bit long) and maybe break up the different stanzas so it isn't as confusing? Or don't :P Whatever floats your boat.
Love the message in this one!!!

Thanks, I'll fix that.
I really really like this. This is really cool. It's seems kinda like song lyrics. I really like the theme, and attitude of the poem. :)

About
I guess my name pretty much says it all. Don't tell anyone or I'll have to mentally kill you in the most horrible way possible which will undoubtedly involve a pair of llamas, a peacock and an incredi.. more..
