Night’s WakeningA Poem by danielle.
At first, it was shy creatures of the night,
who tempt me barefoot into silver dark. Soft rhythm of their sound somehow enjoined, in keeping with the beating of a heart. Within a fragile moment they preside, Pure voices in a concert mine alone. Whilst solitude finds comfort in sweet song, that vanquishes blind fears of frights unknown. Raised buoyant from the privilege I’ve caught, My gaze is lifted high to distant stars, as if to right imbalance ‘pon life’s scale … I’m humbled by my size in equal parts. © 2022 danielle.Reviews
