I Don’t Know What To Call ThisA Poem by danielle.
For the ones we miss today
For finding things to celebrate For things that we appreciate Though nothing really feels the same For the hope that leads us on For the fear that keeps us home For the ones that we hold close And extra for the ones we’ve lost For the fighting and bereft For collective loneliness For enemies that can’t be seen That level every human being For doing what we think is right For going on despite our fright For worry in the neighborhood Sacrifices for the greater good For empires that were built on rails For locomotives turned to snails For a future that will be Although it’s shape is hard to see For breaking the economy For the sake of our humanity For woken dreams and reinvention Of things that seem beyond redemption For the billions and the one For the rich and for the slums For the things we used to hate Like catching trains and working late For uncertainty and blame For solidarity and change For the freedom we lament That will be ours once again © 2020 danielle.Reviews
