I touch myself
And I transcend
This earthly realm
And with each breath
The feeling rises
Gold and shining
A harvest moon
On the horizon
Bathed in warm
Metallic hues
It draws me down
It builds and grows
There’s magic here
I call upon
The mystery
Of ages gone
I am the queen
I’m mounted on
My mighty steed
We streak along
The rhythm drums
Of hooves on earth
I’m coming home
Where I belong
This love could heal
The world around
The evil done
For peace is found
Not where I end
And you begin
The truest love
Resides within
I love this poem. I'm a believer that self-love is at the core of everything we do, every influence we may have on others & on this planet. You express that better than I've even thought it to myself! I love how your passion starts out small & grows as the poem goes along, as if your words are picking up intensity as you go along. I love how the beginning suggests self-intimacy, which is subtle & tasteful, why not romance & seduce ourselves to be the best that we can be? (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
We must always embrace ourselves first and foremost, love ourselves unconditionally, before we can give all of ourselves to others. Not for reasons of vanity but for a personal sense of calm, self worth and wellbeing. When we do that we can then transcend the normal earthly realm of contentment and happiness. I liked the reference to powering free and homewards bound on the back of a mighty steed. The best place to be sometimes.
A fine write, this one. Briskly flowing and full of wisdom and thought. Well done.
