Heart's ParoleA Poem by danielle.Suspended in
limbo, with no way to tell If
I’m five steps from freedom or five steps from hell Waiting,
biding, f*****g then fighting What will it
take to quiet my mind? I’d trade
with a stranger walking the street I long to be
anyone else but me These bones they
ache for a safe embrace Yet guarded
flesh is barbed against A broken soul
who’s burdens stain Whilst other
love is held at bay And I’m trying
to bridge this impassable void Trying to
make an impossible choice Trying to
smile as I quietly break Trying to
hope that there’s really a way To release me
from my heart's parole And keep both
parts that make me whole But I’m still
here in limbo with no way to tell Are we five
steps from freedom or five steps from hell? © 2018 danielle.Reviews
