I Already Love You

I Already Love You

A Poem by Ella Simone

It’s happening it’s happening it’s happening

Perhaps I left my head on my nightstand
Or have fallen into a television coma
And drifted beyond the eastern edges of clouds

It’s happening it’s happening it’s happening

Wrapped in blueberry oblivion,
Suspended in a happy little hangover,
I am drunk on your bourbon-baked breath
Stuck to the scarlet roof of your mouth
Hoping you sink your teeth into me
Or better yet, swallow me whole

It’s happening it’s happening it’s happening

I am wracked with spasms and shivers
And I can only cower

It’s happening it’s happening it’s happening
