CrawlA Poem by Ella SimoneCrawl
You say you’ve got to live forever Go down in history You see no point in this endeavor If you fade from memory
But we’re part of something more Than just our plain selves. From earth’s crust to its core Across continental shelves “We’re collections of carbon Men of molecules.” “Maybe we’re caught in God’s bargain” “Maybe we make our own rules”
Ashes to ashes Dust to dust We all just crawl On the earth’s same crust Seas can freeze And red can rust Who ever said it’s all about us?
You want to govern the galaxy And man the Milky Way But that’s not my priority I’m just here for a stay
Ashes to ashes Dust to dust We all just crawl On the earth’s same crust Skin caves in And red turns to rust Who ever said it’s all about us? © 2022 Ella SimoneReviews
