Much To-Do About Nothing

Hi, I’m busy.

I’m riddled with reminders

And dizzy with to-do’s.

I’m the fastest finder

Of things to get into.

I’m tenaciously tenable

And prudently planned

Acutely amenable

Which puts me in demand.

It makes me hot and hire-able

And people often ask

Where I got this desirable

Tendency to be tasked.

Part of it is curiosity

I want to to see, to learn, to try it

But do I move at such velocity

To avoid peace and quiet?

Can I not tolerate tranquility

Due to a sliced attention span?

Is it a liability

To keep my consciousness in a can?

Because it seems like a gift

In this age of information

To be able to lift

My eyes to each new notification.

Or do I detest rest

As the prize of the impure?

The decadent and dispossessed

Who have the time to be bored.

Or maybe I feel I’m damned

To be forever stuffing

A schedule that is jammed

With much to-do about nothing.

I must be the male version of the subject of this poem. Never quite feeling comfortable at rest, always needing to be moving, accomplishing something.
I really like the easy rhyme, so natural here we almost don't notice it at all...and the alliteration
is quite good as well...adds to the idea of something always going on, being busy.
