just three tries

just three tries

A Poem by Jake Martin

if i said that time is wasting away
there's always so much more i could say
when i left you out in the cold
they always act so old

and you will cry with me sometimes
i will tell you all my lies
and i always have just three tries
that's where my secret lies

i will leave you alone
if you tell me i should go
i could be a sailor sailing away
with you to the rest of my days

and you will cry with me sometimes
i will tell you all my lies
and i always have just three tries
that's where my secret lies

walking on the beach
you're not even in reach
i'd leave you in the cold
if you weren't so f*****g bold

if i cry i will be drowned
feel the sting of a scolding frown
and the silky white of your gown
falls as you drag me down

and you will cry with me sometimes
i will tell you all my lies
and i always have just three tries
that's where my secret lies

i'm alone in my thoughts and fears
i'm all alone in my thoughts and fears
and you will cry with me sometimes
that's where my secret lies
everyone tries, yeah everyone tries
let my secrets rise
i surprise you sometimes
and i see me in your eyes..
