Our World

I hang around you
And you say "
We should create a world of our own,
Won't let no one in-
Only those who view the world
Through the eyes like we do.
We won't let them in."
And when I hang on your coat tails
Each day I hear the songs that bring
Back all those nostalgic memories.
I smile just happy to be part of that world-
One where all's fine and we're gonna solve
All those problems out there.
You see the people like I do,
the whole world with all it's problems.
The trees torn down,
buildings in flame,
animals killed,
a world so dark.
And we're gonna solve it all in our world,
Where we won't let them in.

This was really powerful.

Hard to escape the real world. Would be cool if people would group together and reach for peace, protect nature and animals. Feed and house the poor. It is a good thought and dreams. I believe can be done. Will take a large group of people from every country with hope and dreams of a better world. A excellent poem. Made me think.

I like the idea of shutting the ugly world out and create one where no problems exist.
But as much as I like the idea of a closed-off, pretty world where the problems of the real one can be solved and things improved, isolation will not help improving the rest of world. As much as being on the same page with everyone around can be pleasant, I think it would be pretty boring to not be able to discuss things, though peace does have its benefits, no doubt.
Locking out things doesn't make the disappear. Being protected and safe and building walls to keep the world out, keeps you locked up and your view limited to the ever same walls, no matter what paradise they limit.
And if there is a small paradise in the middle of hell and nothing is done to save the rest, that's not at all pretty looking at the whole, is it?
But well written, and still a nice idea, creating a little paradise...

Little communes of love and peace and hope..it makes the soul dream doesn't it.. But part of life is about dealing with the dark and the ugly and not letting it win over love and light...xo excellent write..xx

Maybe if we won't let "them" in, then we become one of "them" .. Words to ponder ! ..When we put the emphasis on others, it is easier to open ourselves to understanding and acceptance of the world we all live in ..
