Rain

Rain

A Poem by SilentDreamer

She turns away to gaze out the window

As you watch the dull light

From the dreary clouds

Unveil half her face

Her sky blue eyes reflect the day

Hair falls in wisps around her weary face

Her breathing is shallow

But breaks the silence in the room

Then she speaks, her voice high

Like the wind

"It wasn't that bad. . . really."

She glances down, hesitating,

smooths her torn dress

As if that will repaire the damage done

"He didn't mean to hurt me."

She whispers

Then looks at you

Her face hidden in the shadows

Still you can see

The rain pouring

From the sky

Even in the middle

Of the night
