Deception

Deception

A Poem by Monster ^.^

Which is better?
To deceive or be deceived?
Such undoubted illusions
in our lives have been weaved...

Dog eat dog world;
Barks worse than bites;
To decide they are metaphors,
in this world, is that right?

What lies have been told,
black or white...
Doesn't really matter,
They are lies, in despite.

But then, let's turn tables,
And differ from what's perceived...
Which is worse?
To deceive or be deceived?

deception is an evil, no matter which side of the street we play it from. there are those who have perfected the art of deception and, through such, derive great power, wealth or pleasure...so i think this is worse...to deceive at the expense or fate of others...we can usually get beyond being deceived through grace and perseverance...but a deceiver is doomed to suffer the consequences of his actions, eventually. this write is excellent...it is indeed thought provoking and resonant. well penned, monster!

To deceive is an intended sin; it is planned. To be deceived is not anybody's intention. Both are not good. Both are factors for a sin. They often say, there's no deception if there's no one who accepts to be deceived. But again, it's not anybody's choice to be deceived. I won't choose from the two. Never in my life, even in my dream, have I planned to deceive someone. But never in my dream, have I allow someone to continue making deceptions in me, if I know that he's that type of person...It's just like I am deceiving myself also. Letting others hurt you is masochism, and hurting others is sadism.
Neither of the two. Never!
Peace be with you, kabayan.

Hm...I think the one that is worse is the one over which you have no control. Very thought provoking write, JS. Thanks for the think ;-)

Thanks Jack :)
Being deceived is much worse. You're at a disadvantage when being duped.

Hahaha! Nice answer! And definitely the right one than being safe and answering none! :D
Monster, I can't answer either question because both are unpleasant. I think the deceiver eventually gets his comeuppance. The deceived has a choice as to be angry or not. Thanks for the write.

My first thought is that it's better to decieve than to decieve. But in some convoluted way, it seems to me that when we decieve others we also began to decieve ourselves. So it all comes out the same in the end.

Hahaha! How it blows back like a boomerang really makes it unfortunate, yes? Very true!
Most of us, I believe, don't like to be in either role.

Maybe we should all just sit down and enjoy lunch and not worry about table placement. :)

This was well put and thought provoking.
