A Heart for Mary

A Heart for Mary

A Story by Monster ^.^

Ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump.

The sound rang in her ears, the beat of her heart; but it wasn't hers--it was Jake's.
A tear dropped from her eyes.
She was totally against the operation. Why was her life more important than Jake's? Why did her parents agree to such a preposterous idea? Why did Jake agree in the first place? Such selfish choices she wasn't even part of. It was her life, d****t!... and Jake's too, for that matter...
She took the picture frame lying beside the hospital bed. It was Jake and herself, smiling like dumb idiots. She remembered it was taken three weeks before they found out about her heart disease, "And I even printed it..." she mused. She gave this copy to Jake... but it's unsurprising it ended with her again.
She got the picture out and remembered the note she wrote behind. She was frozen as she read, her new heart skipping a beat.

"You will always have my heart..."

How ironic.

you failed to mention the graveness of disease and so it made a bit peculiar. btw the plot as well as the presentation is good.

Hehe, I liked it, a lot.
I think it's cute, and well ironic.
Good job, as usual c:

Good story, but not realistic at all. No doctor would take a heart from one persone and transplant it into another, unless the donor was dying anyway. I don't know if you could incorporate that into your story or not.
