Rumor

Rumor is a beast...

It bites with long fangs,
but not felt right away.
It chews your entire being,
but noticed when too late.

Like the wild fire it destroys,
uncontrollable, unstoppable,
even by the one who started it.
It heeds no one.

Who unleashed the beast?
It is but the one who held the key,
One who was trusted,
One who betrayed.

Rumor is but a beast,
A beast that holds your name,
It is a part of you, unwanted but set free,
So that only you can tame.

i liked the poem but i think there is a tussle between your perceptions!
in a way that
sometimes fangs and sometimes a beast...........
it made me a bit confused about the imagery
and yes it is simply my opinion.....plz note that!
but all in all it is a good write!

Thank you! Though I don't know why you confuse the imagery... "It bites with long fangs," doesn't mean it's a fang... when I say I bit with my teeth, does it mean I'm teeth?

So how do you visualize "the beast bites with its long fangs"? Didn't I just use "It" as a pronoun for The Beast, which so would create "It bites with its long fangs." I never sad Rumor were fangs! Did you understand that now?

The fact is people aren't mad at you, they are confused as to how you critique...
Not saying you do it in a bad way, but we try to explain it to you, and it's as if you point blank get frustrated when we try to explain something you don't understand, from our point of view.

Like we said, you haven't. I don't care whatever your perceptions are, it's yours. The fact that I wrote it means I want you to interpret it in the first place! But seeing as how you are confused, we are asking you what was wrong, where did you get confused? Why don't you just answer that, then maybe we'll all get a peace of mind.

On My part, so that I will know where I got wrong,
and to your part so you could show where I got wrong.

I quite liked this, it paints an honest picture of the negativity in many of us, could be rumors or could be any number of bad qualities that we try to overcome. Nicely done.

I loved the poem, I think you meant exactly what you were saying.
Your perceptions, in my opinion were completely aligned...
It's like Rumors are the part of you that you want to change, but you can't...
The set amount of imagery in this, could be whatever you want.
You can believe it really is a beast you're trying to tame, or you're trying to shut your mouth and keep it that way.
That's what I got out of it.
