Broken Heart's Cry

Betrayed? Have you learned to forgive? Did you just forgive? If the pain was too much, wasn't moving on difficult?

The bitter taste lingered,
My vengeful thoughts sought relief,
I question your acts, undoings,
What I get is more grief

How dare you play with my emotions,
How dare you be so selfish?
While for you I had been so selfless,
suddenly, its nothing but rubbish

Have I been too open, too trusting, too loving?
Should I have been more observant?
Must I have known that you didn't care from the start?
Have I been all too fervent?

Well it's done; in the past; almost forgotten,
My anger is all but blazing
I am now a lot more somber,
yet my eyes are still grazing.

We might be done, no strings attached
Times might have gone by,
Like a scar, that's never going away,
But inevitable is good-bye
