Below Dark Clouds

There is that unknown you would always like to reach...

I stay below dark clouds,
staring, never blinking
towards the jet-black sky
Sounds of crickets a'ringin'

Smooth black velvet,
I wish to reach, can't be reached,
Blank though it stretches,
to describe its beauty, there's no speech

Are the stars behind it?
I don't know, I'm not sure
Never leaving, never staying
The dark that surrounds, they endure

Is it going to rain?
I thought, and predict
Before then I must make a choice
Or then enters the conflict

I bid farewell,
to the sky, to the clouds, to the stars
may they be, may be not,
I might not see them again

I was just out lying on our roof, and I suddenly thought of writing this one
