Human Being

Human Being

A Poem by Elizabeth Gallegos

I am a human being
with organs and all,
I am a human being
that feels love too.
You tell me you love me
and it hurts for so many reasons.
I see you staring blankly
at the wall or by my door
I look at you and see a smile
as I run.
I run for fear not of
me getting hurt,
but for fear of me
loving you too

Things get complicated when it comes to love and the fear of being rejected. You have to have enough confidence in yourself to know that if it doesn't work out, they'll be another chance with someone else.

Not sure if organs is the right description or perhaps i am not reading your message. I read the message of perhaps your fear of rejected love or what you may have to offer?

Hard to give our love away when we fear the ending at the beginning. I liked the thoughts shared leading to honest ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
