You Are

You Are

A Poem by elizabethray

Can you measure the intensity of a wave?
Hearing it crash and thunder upon the sand below...
Watching it sparkle in the sun as time seems to slow...
Having it push and pull you wherever it may go,
Seeing the freedom of spirit that you’ll never know
Can you buy the feeling of a light summer breeze?
How it lightens and lifts you while keeping you grounded,
How it can transform the feelings that leave you confounded.
How it can bring back emotions that make your eyes well
How it twists through your hair with a sweet, salty smell.
Can you capture the melody of a song?
As it tingles through your veins and into your soul,
Changing your life and all of your goals,
Making you feel as if you’ve never felt before,
Leaving you wishing that you could feel more
To me, you are that wave...
You crash into me like a thousand water droplets
Shimmering brightly as my humble heart watches
And I feel you like the breeze...
I lose my breath with your slightest touch
Feeling like I love you a little too much
You are the melody of my heart
And I hope to spend the rest of my life listening,
I hope that those droplets never stop glistening

So powerfully moving... oh you weave this with such wondrous imagery.. filling it with emotion and passion.. From the first questions to the magic of your metaphors unfolding, you make one wish to know that kind of love... rich and deep and full... May you ever hear that melody, dear poet.

Love poetry, sometimes don't understand it too well...
